ATHR Gallery

Since opening its doors in Jeddah in 2009, Athr Gallery has been instrumental in developing the contemporary art scene in Saudi Arabia. The gallery prioritizes experimentation and the exploration of new ideas, emphasizing the significant role artists play in the creative process and their potential impact on society.

The gallery was founded by Hamza Serafi and Mohammed Hafiz, whose passion and extensive networks have enabled Athr to engage deeply with the local art community. They have spearheaded efforts to compensate for the lack of public art institutions, museums, and art schools by fostering a sustainable art scene that is both globally connected and locally resonant.

Athr actively supports both emerging and established artists from Saudi Arabia and the broader Arab region, offering numerous opportunities to enhance their knowledge and experience. This support extends beyond its multidisciplinary space in Jeddah to include international residencies, special commissions, group exhibitions, symposia, funding, and more.
